Process automation system
In cooperation with Hitec Zang, Ehrfeld Mikrotechnik BTS offers a powerful automation, or rather, a process control system, specifically for the Modular Microreaction System. This combination of a microreaction system and a process automation system that is for intuitive operation provides the possibility of a very rapid and highly flexible development of processes and products.
The process automation system consists of a control unit in a housing with diverse plug-in unit connectors, which contain analog and digital inputs and outputs (interfaces), as well as LabVision, a process control system software that is installed on a separate PC.
The modules of the Modular Microreaction System are connected to the control unit by special cables. The system covers the complete Modular Microreaction System. As the construction of the control unit allows the user to easily and quickly exchange or retrofit plug-in units with digital or analog interfaces, the system can be flexibly changed or expanded. Configuration of the control unit is carried out via the LabVision visualization and automation software system. After configuration with LabVision, the control unit takes over the whole of the measurement and control functions and controls the system independently of the PC and the software system.
The LabVision software package for the control unit of the Modular Microreaction System serves for the visualization and automation of flowing processes in the Modular Micro Reaction System under Windows NT, 2000, XP, Vista operating systems. It fulfills NAMUR-recommendations and is designed for processes which are subject to frequent change of configuration.
The software package allows the read out and selection of up to 100 data point (expansion is possible on request). The PC is connected to the control unit via a USB interface.
The LabVision software package is supplemented by the SL-MicroLib data base. This contains all the necessary symbols for the modules of the Modular Microreaction System and their characteristics.
Drag-and-Drop allows these symbols to be ordered and linked appropriately to the plant configuration. Numerous pre-programmed functions and interfaces to external equipment (e.g. to various controllers, dosing functions, ramp generators, thermostats, pumps, etc.) are integrated for automation.
The following process automation systems shall apply:
